Description

How to Identify

Small, shiny brown burrowing snake with a pink belly, tiny eyes, and a pointed tail tip.

Size

Usually 7-13 inches.

Diet

Almost entirely earthworms.

Habitat

Moist soil, leaf litter, rotting logs, and areas beneath rocks.

Found throughout most of North Carolina.
